The Department of Justice announced that an accord with Microsoft had been reached regarding anti-trust complaints filed by Google. Microsoft will alter its Windows Vista operating system to allow users and manufacturers to select a default program to handle desktop search. Google had complained that Vista’s desktop search program put Google and other competitors at a disadvantage.
