Time to stock up on “forever” stamps

Stamp prices went up on Monday, from 39 cents to 41 cents for a first-class stamp. The Postal Service has offered a way for people to hedge against future postage rate increases. They are offering a “forever” stamp with no price stamped on it. The stamp will be sufficient for first-class postage no matter when you use it. When first-class postage rates rise, the price of the “forever” stamp will rise, too, but it will still be sufficient first-class postage no matter when you use it. The smart thing to do is stock up on stamps right now, if you have the funds.
