Toyota is going to introduce plug-in hybrids to a population of people, and then the University of California will study how people use them. The plug-in hybrids can go seven miles in all-electric mode after a full charge. Only seven miles – that doesn’t seem like much, especially when you’re asking people to plug in their cars before they can use them.
